Tafamidis

Tafamidis is an oral medication used to treat cardiomyopathy and peripheral neuropathy due to transthyretin amyloidosis (ATTR). It is a transthyretin stabilizer and has been shown to reduce disease progression and mortality significantly. Tafamidis is used to treat transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy (ATTR-CM), a condition in which a protein (transthyretin) builds up in the wall of the heart making it thicker which makes it difficult for the heart to pump blood adequately.
